Central Coast South UCA Update
What is happening at Central Coast South UCA?
What a joy it was to be at the Kincumber Car Boot Sale/Markets on Saturday 6th September. After a 6 year break they are up and running under the auspices of Teresa Read and the Connecting with the Community Team. Thank you to everyone who enabled this.
Central Coast South UCA is blessed to have 3 employees: Danielle Bilinsky (Umina Office Assistant), Helen Murray (Kincumber Office Assistant), and Donna Knee (Family and Community Worker). (I am in a Supply Ministry placement, so am not ‘employed’ in the same sense as the other three). Over the past fortnight Helen and Danielle have had very positive Reviews. Donna’s Review did not take place due to the sudden death of her father. Please pray for Danielle, Helen and Donna as they live out God’s calling to serve amongst us.
Last Tuesday 9th September I led a Dementia session at Kincumber. Thank you to Doreen Warriner who facilitated it, and for the 43 people who attended.
Church Council met last Wednesday 10th September at Kincumber. In future editions of Dove Tales you can, as the old saying goes, “read all about it”.
On Thursday 11th we Celebrated the Life of Glen Dixon. Please continue to pray for her husband Ian and their daughter Michelle, and for all who grieve her death. I am sure that she’s in Heaven making sure that the Father’s House is up to scratch. At least she doesn’t have to wait for tradespeople!
A reminder about the weekly 9am Friday online Prayer meeting. You are welcome to join us. Please ask Ann Thompson for the link.
Today, Sunday 14th, we will be looking at Luke 15:1-10. My theme is “Lost and Found”. For those reading this before Sunday, please reflect on the 2 parables which Jesus’ says: the Parable of the Lost Coin, and the Parable of the Lost Sheep. What is most valuable to you? If you lose it, will you seek it? Who is the “one sheep” in your life with whom God is inviting you to share Jesus? What does it mean to be “lost”, and then “found”?
With hope and joy,
Rev. Frank (Van Der Korput), Supply Minister
