Sunday 4th May was UnitingWorld Sunday with a focus on Micah 6:8. Central Coast South is continuing to serve God and our community in many different ways.

Last Sunday was UnitingWorld Sunday. We focussed on Micah 6:8 – “He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God”. I hope that you enjoyed the new song, my message about Micah, and the recorded sermon by Rev. Dr. Mery Kolimon from West Timor. Danielle will email out a transcript of this sermon.  If you would like to give a donation then please put an envelope in the offering plate marked “UnitingWorld”.

It is good to welcome Donna back to our fold. She recommenced her role as our Family and Community Worker on Wednesday. Please continue to remember her and the wider family as they mourn for her nephew Christopher.

On Thursday 8th I met online with Chaplaincy Australia’s Mentoring and Supervision Team. Besides being a recognized Pastoral Supervisor and Group Supervisor, I am also their Professional Development Coordinator. We hold online training eleven times per year, and I help to organise this and host the sessions. In March I led a session on Dementia and 35 Supervisors and Mentors joined in.

On Friday (9th) the Supporting and Resourcing Mission Team will meet. We will continue to discuss 344 Ocean Beach Road. Email conversations with Synod property last week were favourable.

Please pray for Murray Clarkson who is being commissioned as a Lay Preacher this Sunday 11th April at Thornleigh-Hillcrest UCA. I plan to attend.

At our Combined service on 30th March our guest speaker was Sharon Clark. Sharon works for the Disaster Recovery Chaplaincy Network (DRCN). In April I completed two days of online training, and I have now been recognized as a DRCN Chaplain. Hopefully there won’t be any call outs any time soon.

On Wednesday 14th May the Church Council will meet once more. One of the agenda items will be Supply Ministry. This will also be the second-last meeting for retiring Church Councillors. At the AGM on 29th June (following a Combined service with our guest speaker Rev. Punam Bent) we will hold elections.

Every Friday morning at 9am we hold an online Prayer meeting. We would love more people to attend. Please contact Danielle for the Zoom link.

In this Season of Easter we set our faces towards Pentecost. We continue to “Plan to Prosper”, remembering the key verse from Jeremiah 31:11 - For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”.

With hope and joy,

Rev. Frank (Van Der Korput), Supply Minister
