Our Daily Bread
Jesus urges us to pray "Give us this day our daily bread". This includes both physical food as well as spiritual food. Rev. Frank (Supply Minister) has compiled a list of Daily Devotionals used by people at Umina and Kincumber. May we feed well so that we can grow strong in Christ.
A fortnight ago I mentioned some Daily Devotionals which I have found very helpful. Thank you to those who have emailed me and told me what they use. Here’s a compilation to help you feed your spirit every day:
Lectio 365. This is an App on your smartphone. Devotions 3 times a day. It uses the acronym P.R.A.Y. This means: ‘P’: PAUSING to be still. ‘R’: REJOICING with a Psalm and REFLECTING on a Scripture. ‘A’: ASKING God to help us and others and ‘Y’: YIELDING to his will in our lives, come what may.
Our Daily Bread. This is an App, or you can receive it daily by email or as a booklet in the post.
The Word for Today. This is in the Vision Media App. You can also receive this by email or by post.
With Love to the World. This is a lectionary-based devotional from the Uniting Church. Pam Carter from Umina has ordered, received and distributed this to subscribers for many years. New subscribers are always welcome.
The Passion Translation. This is a new translation. Receive a devotional twice a week.
Bible Gateway. You can receive a “Verse of the Day” every day. This website (and App) has lots of Bible reading plans. This is the Bible I “carry” instead of carrying a paper one!
Faith Gateway. I can highly recommend their Devotionals Daily. I quoted from 2 different devotionals last Sunday. These are excerpts from hundreds of Christian books. They have even led me to purchase a book or two!
Year with Jesus – Ian Freestone. Short videos every week. See

Leading the Way – Dr. Michael Youssef - https://au.ltw.org/
Harvest - Pastor Greg Laurie - https://harvest.org/
Jesuit and Ignation Spirituality Australia - https://jisa.org.au/
Another parishioner found a book at the Kincumber Op Shop. It is called GOD OF PEACE - Biblical Reflections on Peace from Ireland - with Lyrics from Maire Brennan's Perfect Time Album. It is beautifully presented with 'muted' photos, bible readings, prayers and personal remarks. A real 'gem'!
With hope and joy,
Rev. Frank (Van Der Korput)
